STORIES / WORKING SCENE
A DELIVERY, INTERRUPTED
Mara keeps moving. The smallest listener stops.

PROPOSED STORY / 02
A new scene based on Mara’s established courier role, Signal Bunny’s reception and the listening towers. Their companionship and this journey are proposed; the scene does not confirm what the signal is.
THE ROUTE
Mara tightens the parcel against her side and walks past a shuttered workshop. Signal Bunny follows for three doorways, then stops. One ear turns back toward the street they have just left.
THE INTERRUPTION
“No,” Mara says. “We already went that way.” The creature does not move. Somewhere behind the wall, a low hum breaks into two notes. Mara looks at the parcel. The same two notes answer from inside it.
THE CHOICE
She sets it on the pavement. Nothing on the wrapping changes. Signal Bunny sits beside it, perfectly still. “You could have mentioned that before I took the job.” The hum stops. For a moment the street sounds empty.
THE TURN
Mara picks up the parcel and returns the way she came. Beyond the last familiar street, the towers stand against the pale sky. Signal Bunny is already waiting at the corner. End of scene.
DRAWING SEQUENCE
Six proposed frames: scarf and parcel in motion; creature stopped at a doorway; ears angled toward the wall; parcel on the pavement; listening pause; reversed walking direction with distant towers. The parcel is a proposed story prop, not Blade Type 7.
EDITORIAL CHOICES
Confirm companionship, whether reception can involve objects, and the parcel’s narrative role. Leave sender, recipient and contents unresolved. Dialogue gives Mara a provisional dry humour to review.
